Flower/ Botanical casting workshop -Saturday May 9th 2026, Duchy Nurseries - £80 per person

£80.00

Introduction to Flower Casting Workshop

Flower casting, or botanical bas-relief, is an artistic technique where flowers and plants are pressed into a clay mold to capture their intricate details, and then plaster is poured over this mold to create a raised relief cast. The process involves arranging delicate plant material on wet clay, removing the plants after they've left an imprint, and then pouring plaster to form a permanent keepsake. These casts can be left plain or painted to highlight the captured textures and patterns, preserving ephemeral beauty in a tangible, long-lasting form. Create your own unique plaster cast tile using clay and plaster. You will be working with seasonal plants, natural materials, seed pods, impressing images onto clay and using plaster to create the cast.

10 am start in the Glasshouse. The day will include a morning break with tea or coffee and a two course lunch provided by the nursery. (The class will end approximately 2:30pm)
